Rugby Speack

Rugby Speach

Hi  there, today  i’m going to be talking to you about rugby, now how many of you have played rugby? In the next 2 to 3 minutes, you will learn about my personal exprerience with rugby and be convinced to play.

Personaly i will never forget my first trie I scored, I remember my parents cherring saying “ go blake go!” from the side line, it was then I felt an instant love for the game of rugby. I felt like johna lomu running down the line and breaking through all the tackles then scoring under the posts. After I got off the rugby field I remember going to the pub, now I know that sounds kind of bad, but that’s were we wen’t for our after function. I will never forget that that game, or, that day.

Now how many of you can tell me who joma lomu is? Joma lomu was in my personal opinion one of the best rugby players of all time. Jona holds a world record for the most tries in the world cup, he scored 15 tries across two tournaments.

Now I thought that scoring a trie was the best feeling that I would feel playing rugby. But I was wrong!
When I made my first good tackle, someone was running down the sideline, and I dived at them cliped them around the ankles and they just fell. Fell out. I could hear once more my parents cherring, the whole crowd cherring, although there was probaly only twelve people there, cherring.

My dad told me after the game “ That was an amazing tackle.” I felt as if I were ben smith making a great cover takle then jackling the ball and winning the turnover.
For those of you who don’t know, jackling is in a nutshell grabbing the ball from a tackled player and trying to rip the ball free, or making them hold onto it, which then gives you the penalty.

I remember hearing, brian o’discoll quote: “rugby gave me the confidence to be more outgoing”, he said that he was quite shy and reliatively timid. But the sport of rugby changed that  for him. Now he isn’t shy nor timid.

During the school holidays I was lucking enough to be selected for the under 52kg rugby team. The seddon sheild has been running for 82 years their are five teams that take part, Malbrough, Golden Bay Motueka, Buller, Nelson and of course West Coast. This year Marlbrough won the seedon sheild, but my team fought till the end, and never gave up no matter how far behind we where, and even though we lost 4 out of 5 games we never gave up. The seddon sheild tornamaunt was a realy great opportunity and I am extremely grate full for it.

The other thing that I love about rugby is team mates,  rugby gives you the chance to form bonds with people that you don’t go to school with that you have never meet before.

So in conclusion I think that rugby is a great interactive sport. I think that it is a great way to make new friends and meet new people. It is also a great way to get outside and have some fun while keeping fresh and keeping fit. Thank you.
